The Montini Centre develops its own initiatives and works with others on projects that strengthen communities, promote participation and put the principles of human dignity and the common good into practice. Projects may be initiated by the Centre or developed in partnership with churches, charities, schools, community groups and public institutions. The nature and extent of our involvement will depend upon the needs of the project and the Centre’s available capacity. We are currently developing our first projects and look forward to sharing further details in the coming months.
We develop and support projects that respond to local needs, strengthen community relationships and enable people to participate in shaping the places where they live.
This may include:
Developing Montini Centre initiatives connected with our values and community interest purposes
Working with communities and organisations to design collaborative projects
Building partnerships between local groups and institutions
Encouraging volunteering and civic participation
Supporting activities that strengthen social connection
We believe that communities are strengthened when people are trusted, equipped and empowered to act together.
When developing our own projects or considering work with partner organisations, we will normally look for projects that…
Respond to an identifiable community need
Produce clear public or community benefit
Respect the dignity and participation of the people involved
Be realistic, responsible and proportionate
Encourage collaboration
Consider long-term sustainability
Include appropriate safeguarding, governance and financial controls
